Oh sorry I didn't mean to make generalization. I was expecting that with the tooling nowadays, nobody would use a practice like that. I was amazed that it is still practiced nowadays by some people

I guess what I'm trying to say is: don't take people around for idiots, they can be as capable as you if given the right opportunities. Taking care of your team is much more important than polishing a pile of code soon to be legacy anyway

Don't get me wrong. Easy and boring code is fine... unless it is used to prevent others to grow

"RTFM" is a rude thing to say but inviting someone to the relevant part of the doc is actually much nicer than making sure they never have to face complexity (or doing the job for them)

In a professional environment, if your goal is to write code that is understandable to a 10yo, you're probably doing a great disservice to your adult colleagues who are much smarter than you think and who could learn from your experience

I just started The Boys and there you can see how messed up heroes are in a capitalist society. You can see how more famous they are and how disconnected from people they become. It's a bit more nastier for heroes because it's easy to get overconfident with all the praise they receive. So when they are wrong they sometimes have a hard time to admit it. This is valid for celebrities we see as smart.

I saw The Umbrella Academy recently: heroes there are introduced as a dysfunctioning family. I think it's important to show that people with talents like that are still people and do a lot of mistakes like everybody
