The Liberals have just admitted they have nothing else to say about health policy during this election campaign. No new investments, no new funding, no new ideas. On the very same day the AMA confirmed our public hospitals are in crisis. Unbelievable.

Get this. has just released his “full” health policy. That’s it. 27 days to go and he’s finished. No more health. He’s cut $700m from hospitals. He’s got a plan to cut $2.8b more. And that’s it. No more.

Imagine tweeting this the same day the AMA says our public hospitals are “chronically underfunded”, doctors and nurses are at “breaking point” and elective surgery waiting lists are the worst they’ve ever been.

This is the terrible impact of years of cuts from State and Federal Liberal Governments. Now Scott Morrison wants to cut another $35m from our public hospitals. Only Labor has a plan to fix our state’s health crisis.

If you see a text message or post suggesting Labor will introduce a death or inheritance tax, call it out for the lie that it is. Based on a dishonest press release and a compete fabrication.

This report is a damning indictment of the Liberal cuts and chaos in the health portfolio. It confirms public hospital funding is inadequate, waiting times are blowing out, and our doctors and nurses are at “breaking point”. Only Labor has a plan for better funding.

Today’s announcement by Labor on its plans for improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is a much-needed step-up in commitment. It puts Indigenous Australians at the centre of decision-making about their health.
