The cost of car seats matters when buying in South Africa. The more expensive seats are USUALLY more expensive for good reason. I share more on this here - Every child. Every time. No matter what.

Trucks have longer stopping distances. Cutting in too close in front of a truck can be dangerous.

Money just doesn’t buy brain power. This morning yet again see a mom driving an Evoque in excess of 60km/h with a <6 year old standing free on the front seat. If the airbag doesn’t blow him into pieces the dashboard and windscreen will turn him into mush. But screw parenting.

Q: When can I move my baby out of their infant seat? When they pass the maximum weight or height on the orange sticker on the seat 🧡 Usually 13kg or 75cm, +- 12 months old. You can move to an seat once baby sits unassisted, +- 6 months.

Hi There are several car seats that require a third attachment point in this top tether. The car seat manual will specify how it needs to be secured. An example is Safeway’s extended harnessing seats, the harness can be used up to 25kg IF there is a top tether point.

A note on this pic, the little bar on the back of the rear vehicle seat is a top tether point :) this is important for a number of difference car seats :)

This is my brother’s status on FB right now which means he’s the guy trying to save the life of a child who’s parents clearly don’t care about them. WTF do people drive without strapping kids in?! Also if you’re stuck on a highway in Joburg right now this is why...
