If Courtney Herron's death does not inspire the same public outcry as the deaths of Jill Meagher, Eurydice Dixon, and Aiia Maasarwe, it will say a lot about us as a society.

Can’t say it better than this.... “We’ve been wrong about what our job is in medicine. We think our job is to ensure health and survival. But really it is larger than that. It is to enable well-being. And well-being is about the reasons one wishes to be alive” Atul Gawande

Well said, . Sorry to Courtney that we let her down. And to Eurydice. And to Natalina. And to Jill. And to so many other women who have lost their lives.

I reject with every fibre of my being: Men Are Not Oppressed. Another woman was murdered in Melbourne overnight, and if it was a man, the prime minister would be holding a news conference denouncing acts of terror. Why the silence around women?

34% Caesarean rate, no universal access to continuity of midwifery care, socially disadvantaged women, rural and remote women poorly served. Women in Aust get both ‘too much too soon’ and ‘too little too late’ (eg BF support). Maybe we haven’t got it right yet.

Just one voice but ....Giving birth in New Zealand, this Aussie mum says it wins over Australia. Should make us pause for thought this side of the ditch. Have we got maternity services wrong in Australia? I think we have. What thinks ye?

Whether or not Julian Assange is a Journalist is secondary to the primary issue. He exposed gross violations of the rules of war & for that he is a whistleblower. Consequently, he deserves Australia's protection&should be returned home immediately
