Well said! No, there is no existing strategy to follow up care experienced people routinely once they leave care or there is no statutory responsibility. That is why care strategies & 'outcomes' judgements by regulators & professionals are so out of touch with care realities.

I think you are right in so many cases. LAs & regulators struggle to meet statutory requirements & rarely look beyond them. Once statutory responsibilities expire and/or the funding stops, LA's & providers lose interest & involvement with very quickly indeed.

Are care experienced young people traced and visited to see how they are getting on? Is this reported somewhere? I'm concerned there is a lot of talk around looked after/care experienced YP but no follow up to say any strategies/funding is helping them. 🤔
