If you want the US Open to be the Travelers or even the Masters, they could set it up that way. The US Open has never been that.

I did and his first paragraph, imo, is wrong from the get go. Golf isn't played in a dome. Had the winds, as they normally are, been up at Erin Hills, it would have played great. Think my point to Tom is that it isn't as easy as he is portraying to live on the edge

Got it and agree to a bit. Softer greens and these guys still get to pins on side of green. See PGA Tour. All I'm saying is, that it's very difficult to be on the edge (US Open) and just dial it back a little. Looks like the wind might be picking up. Hope so.

Has the science gotten to the point where they are able to dial in the water to the ounce to dictate a style of play throughout the day? Don't believe so. USGA should have told all to pound sand on the watering and just been more judicial in pin placements.

Tom, have loved your work for a long, long time. Curious, what is "get it RIGHT"? Factor in things that you have little control over, too. When you play on the edge, sometimes you go over in places. Hopefully wind picks up and makes those greens shine soon

Can you have it both ways? One or the other, Robert.

I'm just having fun with you. Have fun on the Island. Lot of people would like to be in your shoes this week. I know you understand that, but just a reminder. The beer (wine) tastes a bit better, I'm sure.

I've enjoyed the Shot-clock Masters. Maybe the next one will be the WGC Persimmon/Balata Invitational. How many of the top 50 play that event?

Indeed. Some very good Caps teams from 80s forward that didn't get over the hump. Hope they are taking some pride in this. Stevens, Maruk, Hunter, Langway, Gartner, Dino, Burridge, Riggin, Peeters, Laughlin, Buckhants, Rimer etc...

I also watched a re-run of the final hole of the SEC Championship between Aub-Bama today, while looking for college baseball. The damn coaches had way too much skin in that action. Repulsive. It starts early. No wonder they can't think on their own.

Times have changed. For the better? I would say that is debatable. All individual taste. What you like, I may not. I can handle that. The caddies of the past may have thrown some grass clippings in the air. Hell, I saw a caddie in a sand trap today before the shot, giving advice.

Maryland boy. I'd eat your shoelaces if seasoned with Old Bay 😁. Btw, the 7-yr-old twins hunt down "All Dressed" chips. They love them. Local convenience store is pretty reliable, but am hoping for one of the grocery stores to be a year round supplier.

The espresso of chips. Straight flavor. You can match them with the bacon & horseradish dip, a delight.

Not bad, but you forgot the chip that has it's own flavor. 1) Dark Russet (doesn't need a flavor) 2) All Dressed 3) Salt & Vinegar 4) Old Bay

Worked a Senior Event for multiple years. Hale Irwin, during his Senior Tour domination, stopped by the yard to thank us and Jim Colbert came by with 2 cases of beer one year. Both were appreciated a great deal. Good job, Zac.

Oh, and by the way, 18 to 14. You can proclaim whatever you like. Until those numbers change, the greatest major champion in golf history is Jack Nicklaus. Carry on.

Sorry, Kip, but the guys of days past took the bull by the horn and owned their career. Guys today have 10 others on their team. Different era. I liked the "Marlboro" guys more. Sorry. Angelo was a caddie. Nothing more, nothing less. Hope that doesn't offend you.
