Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi and CEMA chief Tom Sampson is providing an update on the city and provincial health measures for COVID-19. Nenshi says there will not be any new restrictions for the city announced today.

Cenovus: "majority [of cuts] are expected to take place in Calgary, although there will be some in other areas as well. However, there are many details still to be determined as part of the integration planning process and the transaction has not yet closed."

There have been 1,440 cases of COVID-19 reported in Alberta over the last three days. There were 1,151 cases reported in June.

In addition to mandatory 15 person gathering limit, Dr. Hinshaw announces voluntary measures in Calgary/ Edmonton: - masks in indoor work settings, unless you’re alone or barriers are in place - stick to 3 cohorts (ie: home cohort, small group of friends cohort, sport/school)

Clarification on the mandatory 15 person limit: Dr. Hinshaw says structured events, such as wedding *ceremonies*, can proceed. But she said “it would apply to gatherings that may occur before or after these events, such as wedding receptions.”

MORE: Dr. Deena Hinshaw is announcing new health restrictions for the City of Calgary and Edmonton as cases climb: -Mandatory 15 person limit for social events (including dinners, birthday parties, weddings, etc.). Doesn’t include restaurants, bars,religious services.

NEW: Alberta records 1,440 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend (364 on Friday; 572 on Saturday; 504 on Sunday) — an average of 480 per day. Seven new deaths being reported. 118 people are in hospital, 16 in ICU. Dr. Deena Hinshaw is speaking right now.
