One more training session before deployment. The College team is heading back out to sea next week... and hosting an afternoon on Tues for media professionals to get out with them. Sea sickness tablets not provided 🤢. fancy it?

Very proud of the achievements of Gunner Eatock. A superb recruit and clearly devastating on the rugby pitch. Great to see her achieving so much and using the platform and opportunity the Army gives to young people.

My son is in that river somewhere. He takes it all in his stride and is affably arrogant about it. The self confidence that has exploded in him since AFC Harrogate and now ITC makes this old man rather proud of him, and our Forces.

Sharing a joke with recruits, listening to the ideas of our junior commanders and getting to know his new people - Commander Initial Training Group () has been up north, chairing the RSMs’ conference and seeing what’s what at the College this month.

Actually they are just young women and men who have chosen to make a difference, to better themselves and to serve their country. Please don’t undermine their commitment and achievement with an ill-constructed argument based on your political beliefs.

I remember mine from Sandhurst. I watched a fellow Officer Cadet take a full King Endward potato to the Dangle Spangles. He was in a bad way...

These Junior Soldiers have successfully completed their first military exercise and their first night in the field as recruits. A seminal moment which they will never forget. What exercise do you remember above all others?

My lad is there now. 1 year long course. Up at 5.45am. Sleep at 11.00pm. PT, inspections, drill, deployments, study, admin on a night. Decision making, leadership. Apprentice pressure? Try AFC pressure and all that at 16 years old. Your move
