Sure, you’re entitled to your opinion. They acquired a brand and culture is my point — not some super amazing technology that they could not have created themselves. This merger is about people, not product.

You mean Shadowman? Yes — like any other company on the planet, but that’s not IP for the sole gain of Red Hat. That’s simply protection of a brand no different than the Nike swoosh. It’s not exclusivity of knowlwdge.

We have patents (I have a few myself), but it's to ensure that anyone in the world can innovate on the knowledge defined -- not for the sole benefit of Red Hat.

We have patents, but they are not property when used to ensure that anyone in the world can work on the ideas carried within instead of for the gain of Red Hat. This is why there is no IP.
