Honest question: if the shoe were on the other foot, would there be so many abortion rights folks calling for the same?

cc peer reviewers for interdisciplinary journals who expect scholars from disciplines where we know how to write to follow APA's asinine scientistic passive voice style, as if the data measured themselves

. says “the media outed” Judge Kavanaugh’s accuser. But only Democrats & their aides had access to the letter. So what she really means is Democrats leaked the letter. Either approved the leak or she can’t control her own committee. Neither good.

I hope that Dr. Ford will reconsider and testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday. It is my understanding that the Committee has offered to hold either a public or a private session, whichever would make her more comfortable.

You are taking about 36 year old abortion rights activists. I'm talking about 12 year old girls who are learning about abortion and abortion politics for the first time.

not in a good place in the short term, that's for sure...but in a much better place to win the culture

Yes. Getting behind Trump was the first blow, and it might have been enough. If they push though Kavanaugh without fully honoring the claims of an alleged victim of sexual violence, that should be it.

Maybe he was pushed into K by Federalist Society folks...as well as the rumblings that Collins and Murkowski might not vote for a more aggressive choice like ACB? And now he sees as win/win...either he gets accolades for K being confirmed or he gets his first choice all along?

Has Trump's relative discipline with regard to SCOTUS fiasco received enough attention? Why is he so dialed in, even on Twitter? Particular example of larger trend with how he's handled SCOTUS overall. Why has he taken to more traditional approaches on this aspect of governance?

But I'm not sure it is about preference for Christians per se. Might be an accident of the places from where admin wants and doesn't want immigrants? Or, if it is about Christianity, it might be about who counts as Christian?

These reporters spent two entire days with me...didn’t mention anything about it. In fact, they cut almost all interviews with prolife women.

The ever-thoughtful and careful changed my mind. There's stuff to figure out. It probably won't lead to much, but who knows? 1-2 weeks. Then hearings. Then (if K doesn't withdraw) vote. If K is clean it won't stop his confirmation before midterms.

This is a fragile political moment for the GOP. Conservative legal establishment ready to go to war, Kavanaugh at WH prepping for the hearing, some senators raising Qs about Dr. Ford's cred. But few top R sources feel comfortable. Too many variables floating around the process.

US should be a nation that refugees can legally flee from religious or other persecution. America has a responsibility to promote compassion & democracy around the world. We should continue to be that leader

Graham to me: “This has been a drive-by shooting when it comes to Kavanaugh . . . I’ll listen to the lady, but we’re going to bring this to a close.”

This right? 1. Feinstein gets letter and does nothing. Could've given confidentially to FBI. 2. Letter leaks; she asks FBI to investigate. 3. FBI declines. 4. Ford's lawyer says she'll testify. Hearings scheduled. 5. Ford's Lawyer says she won't testify until FBI investigates.
