A7 I try to model “my office” as a place to fix “risks taken” because when leaning, risks do need to be taken.... (and I’ll share my own missteps at times as well!)

A7: Build trust via building relationships. I am honest w/ my Ss. I may teach ELA, but reading is not my "fave" task. Probs Y when I actually recommend a book they listen. I tell them about my struggles as a S. TRANSPARENCY.

I listen to my students. It is so important that they feel like they are listened to it. I have had conversations with students about difficulties they have been going through and I think it is important to say "I am here."

A6: Non-stop 1st 2 weeks. Commonality activities, interview activities, art activities, & MORE. I like "lessons" that intro our tech/routines + getting to know my Ss = produce their work to display (buy in) & build relationships.

A7 From day one, you have to teach your Ss that it’s okay to be different, but you must accept others for their differences too. Kindness isn’t just a smile and a helping hand, kindness is seeing others for their hearts regardless of a label or circumstance.

A7: I've been told by Ss that I am fair - I listen to my Ss and follow thru or give appropriate direction Challenging students that have left me have requested me to be their check-ins and have written letters thanking me for being their teacher
