The National Museum of African American History & Culture wants to make you aware of certain signs of whiteness: Individualism, hard work, objectivity, the nuclear family, progress, respect for authority, delayed gratification, more. (via )

If I said this outloud at work or put this on my desk I’d get fired.

Shhh- nobody tell the Americans of Chinese, Indian, Iranian, Korean or Filipino origin that they are actually white, according to this chart.

Wait, so the scientific method is wrong? I thought conservatives were the worst people in the world for suggesting that climate researchers may be wrong? 2020 is so confusing.

I just remember the 70"s when we were supposedly going into Global Cooling and The Big Freeze. Then the ice caps were melting and polar bears becoming extinct and blah, blah, blah.

I actually read some of the article. Who knew white people in America can be categorized as “Protestant”? In the Deep South cities of old there were plenty of Catholics and Jews. Blacks tended to be Baptists and Methodists.

Jews generally aren't considered white, at least historically. Has something changed that I don't know about?

These seem to be cultural rather than racial characteristics. Is “whiteness” cultural or biological or both? I always thought being white or black was just biological but we could all strive to have these cultural American values.

Also, we could not all strive to have any particular set of values. . That's the main point of examining colonialist assertions (read: European violence and genocide) in the context of their wealth-hoarding intentions.
