I will not be beaten. I'll use unexpected time this weekend to work on my . I love being able to write. It makes me feel alive, and I can get so engaged in it that it's like everything around me disappears. That level of focus and passion is not useless. ♿

Haha I'm having fun looking through old tweets. Who remembers the lady who got mad at me for converting children to Autism?

Am reworking a chapter I wrote about 14 months ago. I've developed the ideas a lot since I first drafted it (and am grateful for the generous scholarship of others whose writing, conference papers etc have inspired my thinking). I love having the chance to edit!

My interests/passions/hobbies are cyclical in nature. I’m currently in mode. Early hours of this morning I trawled through 1000’s of crochet patterns on eBay. And I found this 😁 so I had to buy the pattern for £1.99.

All right, , we've got a problem here. Is it possible that article/blog/guest entry writers can henceforth forbid the Autism Squeaks from sharing their content??

At least half of a family I'm very close to is on the spectrum, and at the moment I'm the only one aware of it. How do you even begin to start? Many different personalities. Is this another thing we have to pretend not to notice?

For those following the Autistica, Autism and AIMS-2 situation, may I recommend this blog from PARC. Very, very serious concerns about this. "Will AIMS-2-Trials address the autism community’s priorities? No". Keep reading...

So, today I had a hair appointment. I'd asked when I booked it if the place was ♿ accessible. I was told it was. Got there to find a door step approx 8cm high. Door steps are not ♿ accessible.

Managed to get my hair cut at a lovely, ♿ accessible hairdresser. They'll now be taking care of all my hair cutting requirements - and as I have very fast-growing hair that I need to keep short because I can't brush it, that will mean frequent visits! 😁

It's hard for others to understand, but I don't like sitting on someone else's couch. I also don't think less of myself for wanting to sit on the ground. It's a strong preference. Really, don't try to force me to sit with you. I'm happy where I am.
