I’ve seen it happen @ all sorts of venues. Large, massive, small, etc. The question should be, is value provided for the %. If not, there’s your discussion point,imo. Shouldn’t be a thing that is taken for granted by a venue.

Merch cuts have always been around, and are controversial. Usually good to negotiate before you sign a show contract. Sometimes venues perform merch functions so it makes sense to compensate them, sometimes not.

Kept it all business. Like the one that employs nearly 500 citizens of Lubbock, TX. (I think that’s low). Would be beneficial to create a database locally so we knew for sure.
