If you were given the chance to rename JavaScript, what would you call it?

"JS" to rename it now (which has basically already happened de facto). But if I could go back and pick a different name from the start? "Plural". +

My apologies to you if I have offended you with my tweet. I had no idea there would be so many opinions. I was just curious what it would be called as it is often mistaken for Java.

No worries, I was funnin’ around. “JS” is short and won’t be confused with “Java”, so avoid the long name and use the short name where you can.

Just ECMAScript and accept it. It's the best for both worlds (JS and Java)

In the Netherlands we say loosely translated that Java relates to JavaScript the same way sand relates to sandwich.
