Having maintained this campaign since 2014, I've compiled a LOT of research about the environmental impacts of animal ag – and I'm thrilled to finally have a more comprehensive home for it. Please explore and share our new website widely! 🌏🌱🐾

Milk Hurts May 25
YES. In a new article on the massive decline in dairy milk consumption, "the decline is attributed to a series of factors including the prevalence of more milk substitutes, medical debates over milk’s health value, and ethical debates about production."

It’s weird seeing how excited people get every spring about spotting birds’ nests with knowing how little respect for that miraculous process is given to chickens. It’s completely manipulated and hikacked from hens in every way, because omelettes. 😔🐣

Good news: If you failed to disclose numerous meetings with hostile foreign powers and amended your financial disclosures 40+ times, you too can obtain a security clearance in Trump's Administration! *Offer only valid to those married to the President's daughter or named Jared.

When we believe we’ll never have to worry about being treated the way we’re treating those deemed “other” or “less than” (including both human & non-human animals), apparently anything goes. 😔

A gentle reminder to anyone who ‘will never go vegan’ that the majority of vegans haven’t always been vegan. 2014 Kelsey had no idea I’d be living my best life without cheese

Listening on NPR about how when mothers nurse their babies, their milk magically adjusts to the baby’s growth stage and needs, and can even provide “custom made medicine” if pathogens are detected in baby’s saliva. Just one more thing we deny to cows and their offspring.

A groundbreaking new scientific assessment of all life on Earth reveals the staggering impacts of animal consumption. We have truly turned the planet into a giant meat/dairy/egg factory. More:

While vegans contribute to field animal deaths & exploitation of workers, meat eaters contribute to that + the slaughter of billions of animals, exploitation of more workers, & environmental harm. Being vegan isn't a perfect way of life, but it's much better than not being vegan

IF YOU CARE ABOUT ANIMAL RIGHTS, then the demise of the Great Barrier Reef and the sea animals depending on it should arguably be up there with the plight of other animals. Ecosystem destruction is a crime against the planet and its inhabitants.

Wild native bison are being routinely slaughtered, and now quarantined with families torn apart & shipped off, to “protect” the needless & destructive cattle slaughter industry (brought to the US with colonization). All for steak. 🤯 doesn’t get it.

In all mammals, mother's milk is very specifically baby food. Cow's milk is for calves, goat's milk is for kids, sheep's milk is for lambs, and human breast milk is for young developing humans. If you want to talk about propaganda, look no further than the dairy industry.

Also, remember that when we pay for cheese or other dairy products we are paying for baby cows to be taken away from their mothers, killed, or put into a life of forced impregnations and exploitation. Think of it as cow breast milk, NOT PEOPLE FOOD! & It’s not healthy for us. 🌱

In other words, people used to reject plant-based diets because they were supposedly for poor people, but now they reject them because they're supposedly for rich people. You already admitted you use/eat animals for your “enjoyment,” so it's not about poverty or privilege at all.

Also although issues of access/autonomy should be respected, many affordable global staples are vegan. The effort to rebrand plant-based foods as hip/something for the privileged was actually a conscious effort to remove the widespread association between eating plants & poverty.
