I think about those 1,862 people a lot, hundreds of miles from their homes, their favorite restaurants, their dogs, away from everything that makes life what it is, and dying in a dusty concentration camp for no reason other than having the wrong ethnicity.

On February 19, 1942, F.D. Roosevelt signed EO 9066, which lead to the imprisonment of nearly 120,000 Japanese Americans. For three years those men, women, and children lived in America's most inhospitable corners; 1,862 of them died there. Spare a minute to think of them today.
