In 1963, Pres. Kennedy signed the Act and our country enshrined into law a fundamental concept: equal pay for equal work, regardless of sex. We have made progress, but unfortunately loopholes and insufficient enforcement have allowed wage discrimination to persist.

The recent allegations against Lt Governor Fairfax are disturbing and extremely serious. Both allegations must be investigated immediately. If either is found to be true – and there appears to be significant corroborating evidence – then the Lt Governor should resign immediately.

John Dingell was a living legend. He supported civil rights, education and healthcare. He fulfilled his life goal of guaranteeing health care for all Americans with passage of the ACA. My condolences to and the rest of the Dingell family.
