When Jesus flexed His muscles at the Resurrection, He was declaring, “There’s more where that came from.”

Jesus was confirmed as the Son of God, not by miracles or teachings but by His resurrection. Rom 1:4, “and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.”

I believe Jesus made resurrection vows in Ps 22:25. Such as, “Abba, if You will resurrect Me from the dead, I will exalt Your name in every nation on earth.”

No man can bury himself. Much less can he resurrect himself. But Jesus can!

When the city of Jerusalem crucified Him, Jesus repaid them by pouring out His Spirit on the city on the day of Pentecost, Acts 2.

When your hands are nailed to a tree, you don’t hold onto anything. The crucified life clings to nothing in this life.

Of His 7 sayings on the cross, Jesus spoke 3 early in the crucifixion, and then 4 at the very end. Inbetween was a 5-hour period where He quietly went to work.

Hear Jesus speaking to you from the cross: “It’s more blessed to give [your life] than to receive [your life]” (Acts 20:35).

Calvary is a mountain of contradictions. Life dies; good is defeated; righteousness is made sin; light is overcome by darkness; God is God-forsaken; the Son of the Blessed is cursed; the Unbeatable is beaten; the accusation written against Him isn’t even an accusation.

The Songs of Ascents (Heb. mahalaw), Psalms 120-134, were the songs Jesus sang on the Jericho road (from Jericho to Jerusalem) as He strode toward His crucifixion.

Let the Father give you the cross and with it He’ll give you all things. Get the cross you get everything; without the cross you have nothing.

No cross no Jesus. To refuse the cross is to refuse Jesus. Jesus comes only with a cross. To receive the cross is to receive Jesus. To receive Jesus is to receive the Father. The cross is the only way to the Father.

There’s no such thing as a crossless Christianity. Remove the cross and you’re left with nothing.

During the cross heaven was silent to Jesus, Psa 22:1. Heaven didn’t answer Him until the resurrection, Psa 22:21. When your heart is won by the cross, you can endure any season of silence from heaven.
