Will—I get the intuition here but do laws against larceny become problematic if lawmakers had "thou shalt not steal" in mind when they voted? Laws against murder if lawmakers had "thou shalt not kill" on the brain? Seems plain that the answer is no, so why different for abortion?

Supporting Saudi coalition has nothing to do with US security. The war has demonstrably undermined US security interests. Ending US involvement would be a good start in fixing some of the damage done for last 4 years

1545. In the same way as Christ’s one single sacrifice is made present in the Eucharist, so Christ’s one priesthood is made present in priests, who are Christ’s ministers.

Alas. This has been her entire academic career and there is no reason to think this might put an end to it.

First presbyteral hot take: Catholics shouldn't uncritically go along with the worship of corporate production and scientism by honoring STEM above other degrees. The Catholic vision sees Theology as the queen of the sciences - and our schools should reflect this.

India has now banned me from doing a tour there but I’m going to do it anyway. Just need to wait for a cloudy day so I can get past their radar.

I have a new exegetical rule for writers on Christian ethics: if at any point they make the point, "Jesus didn't say very much about X; therefore y", I will save myself some time and effort by not reading on.

She has form at these things. Complaining about sexual treatment of women while working for the Clinton campaign on targeting women voters is quite a grift.

men forcing abortions on women, either with threats or with violence/surreptitious poisoning, is almost certainly thousands of times more common than life-threatening pregnancies are

It's 3:08 AM and I can't sleep so I'm going to tweet a spicy Biblical languages take: I think it's a mistake to teach weeks or months of grammar before practicing reading. I've made the most progress by just practicing reading because grammar/vocab make more sense in context.

The year is 2040. The discernment bloggers are incapable of reading each other's tweets because they've all blocked each other. They each believe they are the last consistent Christian on the internet, maybe on earth. "Debate me, cowards," they furiously tweet. But no one sees.
