I've created a mock-up listing for Skytopia in the BGG database so that I could list the game as a demo-only item in our Gen Con 2019 Preview: . Feel free to submit corrections to that page or expand on the game description. See you in Indy soon!

BGG doesn't do paid previews. I'm in charge of the BGG News blog, and I decide what I post about, based partly on what I think people want to see and partly on what I want to cover. —WEM

I'm out of touch, sort of, as I couldn't attend Tokyo Game Market in May 2019. That said, you'll find many posts that reference recent JP game releases by searching BGG News for "Japan":

I shake someone's hand accidentally when I'm surprised, but otherwise it's fist bumps all the way. They can't shake your hand if you never open it!

I would perhaps speak of the parts of a mechanism or the elements of a mechanism; alternatively, you could describe "the constituent components of a mechanism" in exactly those terms: the constituent components.

Sigh, I got nothing from Game Market this time, so I'll have to look on from afar for now, making a list that will inevitably be larger than I can ever acquire and play...

Ha, that's pretty much how I described the game in my overview video. The promise of the Second Chance cover — you're going to draw shapes & fill them w/ pretty patterns — is delivered via the gameplay. You're playing for the joy of creating artwork, w/ winning being a bonus.

Sorry to hear that! If you reprint the game or release a new edition, please let me know, both for myself and for the BGG Store...

Super Meeple in France is probably the most prominent of those reprint/new edition companies, having brought back Tikal, Java, Mexico, Missippippi Queen, Amun-Re, and more.

Thank you! I've updated the game description on BGG: . This game sounds wonderful! Do you have copies left? We sell some JP games through the BGG Store. If you have copies, please email me wericmartin@gmail.com and we'll talk!

The proper expression for this game is "drives me to tears", but I'll let you get away with it this time. —WEM

Yes, I started one, but I haven't been able to add much to it, so perhaps it's a good thing to be hidden away as it is:

We've changed the format of version names to simply "[language] edition" until a second edition of something appears. Adding the "first" makes things wordier, and only a tiny percentage of releases reach a second edition.

I have not. My wife and I used to go to the movies every weekend, then we had a long period where we were both struggling, while also trying to save for a house, so we didn't spend money on films for about a decade. I've never caught up...

I'm on board with this way of thinking. If I know that I want to see or read or listen to something, then I don't want to know ANYTHING about it beforehand. I will see all Christopher Nolan movies, for example, so I avoid trailers for them. It's better for me this way...
