The increases the length of time for statues of limitations instead of eradicating them. The act doesn’t address the effect that early abuse has on memory. Many survivors won’t remember by the end of the year or their 55 birthdays.

Healing thought of the day: I can establish my own pace of life. Abuse doesn’t decide, recovery doesn’t decide, a job or culture doesn’t decide. I decide. It feels like control. It feels like healing. It feels like integration.

The perpetrator took a video of himself raping a peer and sent it to friends admitting he raped her. The judge says because he’s from a good family, goes to a good school, and has good grades, that his actions weren’t predatory...WHAT?! Recall time?

I need a for my mind mess to help me figure out what thoughts give me joy, which I should keep, and which I should discard. Or I already know, I just need her to stand there and make me commit to the purge.

Abundance is when you have chosen not to have a car to keep life cheap and simple and then 3 of your friends go out of town your birthday week and offer to let you borrow them for free as a birthday gift! What’s one girl going to do with 3 cars?!

Charlotte’s life highlights the frequency of abuse for persons with disabilities, violence in the foster care system, and injustice in the justice process. Her hope is stronger than her pain as here she is helping others!

The developers shut the app that removes women’s clothes down because the risk of misuse was too high. Is there anyway this app can’t be misused? When would digitally removing a woman’s clothes without consent be considered appropriate?

“Ms Carroll is the 16th woman to accuse Mr Trump of sexual misconduct. Mr Trump has denied all allegations against him.” 16 accusations and no accountability. 16 victims and he’s still the president of the USA. Why?

“Redwood roots, instead of growing deeply to secure the strength of their height, reach outward and find their stretch by holding onto the roots of other redwoods. Maybe this is my way, too: to reach wide and to rise strong. I feel it happening.”

This is cause for celebration in the advocacy community to stop sexual violence, but what action is being taken in prisons to teach perpetrators about consent and self-control so that they stop perpetrating after they’re released?

The stigma of rape must end in Rwanda and everywhere so that survivors can get the recovery resources that they deserve, support from their communities, and have their experiences integrated into their lives.

This story is a great example of the importance of community awareness to stop sexual violence. and her children were saved from years of perpetration because a friend noticed signs of abuse.
