First two talks at a contrast in style, content. +Tagle gave a moving reflection on the wounds of Christ and on forgiveness. +Scicluna's was a sober explanation of what is expected, allowed in terms of canonical & judicial processes re rights of both abused and accused.

A service of prayer is in the planning for later this year. No date set as yet, but conversations about what would be best to do (and when and where) are occurring.

I celebrated Mass with the South Sudanese Catholic Community this afternoon, in honour of St Josephine Bakhita - one of their own. These people have known terrible persecution. But they know how to do family - they are a gift to us, not a burden on society.

Two lovely moments today. A visit to the Aboriginal Catholic Ministry centre during the day, and a meal with the L’Arche community this evening. Both moments of grace.

Mistake is building parish life on desire to meet pastoral needs, an ‘attractional’ model, which sees preferences rule until even these are unviable. Missionary models have a discipleship pathway where evangelisation, faith, conversion precede liturgy (CCC #1072) leading 2 growth
