MLB will investigate during the leave. Under the collective bargaining agreement, the leave can be extended at the end of the 7 days.

For those asking what the Dodgers are going to do, there is nothing they can do right now. The domestic violence policy is part of the collective bargaining agreement; teams cannot act independently during the league investigation and any possible disciplinary process.

A trade or a release is a baseball move, and a player would be paid in the case of later. You can’t tell a team not to make a baseball move.

The player would win a grievance because the release obviously would not be based on player performance. The team could have to reinstate him.
