I looked into this in Jan 2016: Of 92 managers appointed by top-flight clubs in previous 10 yrs: Already managed in PL 47 From abroad 28 Internal (eg a coach at that club) 10 Had coached at another PL club 2 Had only managed in EFL 5 (Ince, Martinez, Di Canio, Poyet, Brian Laws)
