My latest extra post: A 28 minute virtual ride on a fast cycle route (F261) in the south of the Netherlands (Kaatsheuvel to Waalwijk) on 11 August last. This is the third of nine rides. I will publish one every Monday in October and November.

The U.S. has failed to reduce pedestrian and cyclist fatalities as fast as comparably affluent European nations, a new study finds. The authors think we must employ the same simple, effective policies that they did to catch up in the fight the bloodshed.

To ensure a successful transition from sport to transport, cities must do more to ensure the widespread availability of utility bikes: Vehicles that carry more than just a passenger; enabling trips to the hardware, grocery or electronic store. They shouldn’t be so hard to find.
