It’s also several orders of magnitude cheaper to get a hardware product working, manufactured and taken to market. Try costing out a dropcam 20 years ago.

Games do not, generally, have millions of third party apps, and do not drive half of e-commerce sites’ traffic. Some (Minecraft, Roblox) are platforms for games, but they’re not organising or development layers for the internet.

Google Glass is not AR. The problems with voice have much more to do with the limitations of the technology: in a lot of ways it really needs AGI to fulfil the promise (come back next century)

i don’ think that’s quite right. EU anti-trust sees competition as good for consumers per se - US is narrowly focused on low price alone.
