'Kites' On a crisp day in the park I watch as a Hasidic boy runs across frosted grass, a newly-constructed kite in his hand. It fails to launch, but in the exertion his yarmulke flies from his head, tumbling like a delighted crow through the gathering clouds of the 21st century.
