This statement by Benny Wenda deserves wide circulation prior to the UN General Assembly in New York. The Indonesian officials responsible for these crimes will be held accountable. The violent suppression of West Papuans who support self-determination is reaching crisis point.

Jordi Cuixart, the brave heart of this great movement, is one of the most dignified and impressive men it has ever been my pleasure and honour to meet. All should stand and say I AM JORDI SANCHEZ!

The Conservative MEPs who opposed the EU motion of censure against Hungary’s Orban bring shame on the UK.

If France can cope with an independence referendum on the future of New Caledonia, why is it a crime in Spain to hold an independence referendum on the future of Catalonia? Perhaps Emmanuel Macron could have a word with Pedro Sanchez and explain the principles of democracy.

Perilla is reviewed by Giles Coren in The Times this morning #: “Elegant, casual and beyond excellent”, the restaurant has been “getting more and more wonderful” since it opened. It’s now up there with the very best in London. So proud of my son Matt.

I am honoured to represent Benny Wenda and the ULMWP. The people of West Papua are experiencing a tsunami of human rights violations. Indonesia has so far managed to escape international scrutiny and accountability. All that is about to change

Interesting assessment of MBS by Michael Burleigh in the Times of London: Neither a strongman nor a reformer, MBS is a failed experiment with all the substance of a firework, he argues.

Backing Orban is a very bad call indeed by May. His only supporter in the EU is little nit-wit Nigel Farage. For this Conservative Government to back the European far-right evokes Churchill’s pre-war statements in support of Mussolini.

Wordplay. Self-determination by those who make up a nation means a legally binding referendum. It’s that simple. A right to decide their own destiny. What’s difficult to understand about that?

It’s hard to know what to say about this. Is he now so un-hinged that he thinks people might buy this? He is at the centre of the biggest ever campaign of foreign State interference in a US election, and now he is issuing an executive against...er...himself. La la land.

George Soros has done amazing things for open democracy all over the world. A real philanthropist. Nigel Farage, on the other hand, is a talentless little nit-wit. I know whose side I’m on.
