WaPo reports that compassion is the new all-purpose remedy for social ills, and companies are hiring directors of compassion management. So if you’ve been shortchanged or mistreated by your boss, expect to be paid back with compassion, which will cost the boss nothing.

Fascinating to think about as we deal with Corona outbreak which will fall hardest on the working poor if it takes root is US. Those who don’t get paid if they don’t show up & may even fear losing their jobs if they don’t go to work have an incentive to work even if they're sick

It's Orwellian. The hospital my son works himself into exhaustion on the graveyard shift at offers messages, yoga and "think positively" workshops. Bright-siding continues apace.
