It’s not exactly barbecue, but I did find a borrego taco and a brisket & egg taco at for day 83.

Indeed. We share some BBQ in Dallas at Pecan Lodge and barbacoa in Brownsville at Vera’s. I also make an uncredited appearance in the Taylor episode.

What a spread at Bare Barbecue in Cleburne. I’d eat that chimichurri on anything. Fantastic pork steaks too, and just $10 each.

Davila’s BBQ brisket burger is approved: “It’s like combining everything you’d expect on a brisket sandwich with the toppings for a great burger onto a buttery, griddled bun.”

Juicy. Meaty. Crispy. All the tastiness chopped together. It's the whole hog event taking place at our place tomorrow (Dec. 14th).

I’m talking Tex-Mex restaurants where BBQ isn’t a focus, but they happen to serve ribs.

Damn. Meant to write El Tiempo, but had Mi Tierra on the brain. For the record, they’d rank fifth out of five so far.

This isn’t some average size combo plate. It’s over 1lb of meat, but because it’s all together on one platter it looks like one serving. If I order enough meat for 3 people, I don’t think it should be cheaper just because I didn’t bring friends.

I’m on a search for smoked pork ribs at Tex-Mex restaurants. Had a good rack at last night (and that queso blanco is amazing). Also found them at Lupe Tortilla, Pappasito’s, Mi Tierra, and Ninfa’s. Where else?

Be smarter than me, and when you go into and get four meats, just do the AYCE special for $25. It’ll be cheaper than this platter. Still hard to feel remorseful after that brisket, ribs, sausage, and fried catfish.
