Jack Merritt's family and loved ones have specifically asked that rightwing newspapers and political parties not use his murder to advance reactionary demands. If you see it happening, call it out. They deserve so much better.

It's beyond disgusting that Boris Johnson, Priti Patel, & newspapers like the Mail are using Jack Merritt's death and image to promote an agenda he fought against all his life. He was a passionate believer in rehabilitation and transformative justice, not draconian sentencing.

Well yeah cos both he and his dad are outspoken lefties... Imagine losing a family member in a political situation and having the political party that your family member loathed try to use them as a poster boy. You’d want it stopped too. You’d want his real views represented.

One of the guys who tackled Khan was out on parole for murder. If he hadn’t been released more people might have died.

Ash doubles down on politicising this event, as does Jack's father. Jack's dad should keep his own counsel if he doesn't want this politicised
