Err... your video has nothing to do with breeder reactors, or sodium, or any non-Soviet reactor. The IFR ran perfectly for 30 years cooled by liquid sodium until Clinton admin (DOE oil exec Hazel O'Leary) pulled the financial plug.

UO2 ceramic has been in use since the first LWRs: melting point > 5K F, lattice retains most FPs, but poor thermal conductivity so centerline runs very hot.

Reduction in self sheilding in current fuel designs is an important factor in having a negative Doppler FTC, so you have to be careful here.
