An arrest has been made in the June 28 shooting death of 37-year-old Andrew Scott Callahan. Detectives were able to identify the suspect as 21-year-old Nicholas Fonseca. APD spotted Fonseca on June 30 near 830 Willoughby Way. A cyclist helped officers.

Earlier suggestions that multiple officers from each zone had walked off the job were inaccurate. The department is experiencing a higher than usual number of call outs with the incoming shift. We have enough resources to maintain operations & remain able to respond to incidents.

On Saturday, May 30, 2020, Officer Maximillian Brewer was seriously injured when he was struck by an ATV driven by 42-year-old Avery Goggans. Investigators from the Homicide Unit and the Accident Investigation Unit have introduced additional charges.
