“A main mission goal for MMX is to decipher the origin of the moons by remote examination and returning a sample for compositional analysis. Both possible origins will provide clues as to how water is delivered to inner planets”

with the spacecraft landing for several hours to collect a sample of at least 10g using a corer that can gather material from a minimum of 2cm below the moon’s surface. The spacecraft will then leave the Martian system and return the sample to Earth”

There are (as of late 2019) 72 GPS, 127 GLONASS, 26 Galileo, 4 QVSS and, for BeiDou, there are 32 in MEO, 6 in GEO and 13 in inclined GEO (55 deg) orbits. (All of these numbers I would regard as a little approximate.)

GPS (and GNSS in general) are in 12 sidereal hour orbits (there are a few in other orbits, like the Japanese QZSS). Up at 20,000 km altitude, they are hard to see. I don't even know of any reports of visual flares from GNSS satellites. I
