This weekend marks the unofficial beginning of summer, but it also marks the start of Metro's Platform Improvement Project. Metrorail service will be closed at six Blue and Yellow line stations south of Reagan National Airport through September.

Due to yesterday's storm, some phones at the Department of Human Services are down: Emergency Services crisis line (703-228-5160); Child Protective Services hotline (703-228-1500); alternative Adult Protective Services hotline (571-481-7755). Will update when they're operating.

Update 9:10am: Traffic signals at Washington Boulevard and Kirkwood are back online as are most major intersections. Wilson Boulevard at North Larrimore lights are on flash. Know what to do.

Crews have brought most traffic signals back online following yesterday's storm but a few remain out. Remember: full four-way stop at any dark intersection where no one is conducting traffic.

After yesterday’s storm passed, the Emergency Communications Center reported: 🌳(48) calls for trees down 🚦(11) calls for traffic light outages ⬇️(39) calls for wires down As part of our response, ACPD deployed all the traffic cones and stop signs in our inventory.
