Sad to see our flood-damaged contents stripped out, broken up and sent off to be disposed of. Lots of memories there but and I are safe and managed to save the essentials.

I’d have never even have known about it, but just caught it on iPlayer after it had aired thanks to a heads up from

I’m a huge M.R. James fan (managed to save some of my books yesterday), but I remember a good adaptation of Oh Whistle was on BBC daytime soap ‘Doctors’ of all places. Love when his work pops up in unexpected places.

It’s been a bit of a tough day but we’ve hopefully salvaged quite a bit. Just quite emotional seeing your home and certain objects in that way.

It’s been our first flood and it’s been pretty grim. We seems to have salvaged quite a bit (hoping my M R James and folk horror books are going to be alright alongside everything else)

Cheers Dave, thank you for the offer. Doesn’t look like I’ll be doing much gaming anytime soon...

Thank you. We’re on one floor sadly but we stacked as much as we could as high as we could. Think we’ve saved most of the really important things.

24 hours ago and I had side-by-side desks in our home office and were busy working on projects. We’ve spent the day trying to salvage as much as we can and now we are left with this. Today has been so hard and emotionally draining, especially with 2 hours sleep.

Going back into our flooded house now the water is out. Really upsetting.
