Yes it gives hope for sure! And they had other careers before writing, kids, and struggles just like every beginning writer. Meg Medina said she was in her 40s when she started writing!

Laurie Halse Anderson just said she’s a panster with her YA novels! 😮Absolutely amazing, especially because her plots are so rich and complex! She said she’s a plotter with her historical fiction where certain plot elements are fixed.

I just love how just described how she had NO IDEA where her book was going or why she was writing it or who would care if she did. And that book was Brown Girl Dreaming. We need to just keep going, for as long as the idea has us.
