It’s not so much when you’re doing it. That’s when the adrenaline is going. It’s the next morning.

I remember watching five consecutive SportsCenters just so I could keep watching the highlights of this.

I still need to try that place. I was just over that way the other day.

The sport-as-enrollment-driver factor is one of the more fascinating aspects of all this. Like when Furman cut men’s lacrosse. My first thought was “Why chase off all those tuition-paying students?”

Please welcome our new Florida Gators writer to the beat. So where should I take Allan first? Satchel’s? Mi Apa? Dragonfly?

How many different jobs did Paul Pasqualoni use that photo for? HR Person: Paul, we’ll need to take a headshot for your ID and for the media guide. Pasqualoni: Don’t worry. I bring my own everywhere I go.

The original question was “Who should be QB1 at Florida State?” After looking at the numbers, it raises another question: Have we actually seen what James Blackman can do yet? The answer to No. 2 will inform answer to No. 1.

The Pac-12 players’ demands range from easy to virtually impossible. Here are the ones they and the schools could possibly agree upon.

That’s one game. LSU gets that for every game.

I just feel like it’s impossible to understand unless you’ve lived it. That’s why I reflexively shudder when someone says an NFL player stinks. My first thought is “If you had any idea how good that guy actually was compared to a normal person...”

Why? If anyone knows something about paying taxes off 1099s while in college, it’s us. If we can figure it out, anyone can.

You forget that it’s the institutions who want them. In fact, there are two networks of Web sites devoted to covering and ranking the institutions’ pursuit of these particular people. Once the schools stop trying so hard to sign the guys they sign, you might have an argument.

Cool. That’s not what we’re talking about here. Go find someone who is.

They’re going to get taxed on NIL money. They can be taxed on room and board now. Everyone pays taxes. This remains the silliest argument.

Then why are you arguing with me? I’m fine with NIL as a compromise because it’ll let the market adjust the flow of money on its own.

Do the schools have to compete on the open market for the players? My guess is the players would be cool with that. Schools wouldn’t be, because then the players would be employees and that brings worker’s compensation and other issues into play.

I’m convinced Ed could bend at the waist and make his helmet touch the ground. I never understood how someone that big could contort himself through such tiny spaces. He also had a head slap, though.

You are lying. You would watch it for two minutes and turn it off. Man, I wish there was still some video of Ed Chester lighting me up to show you how bad the football would be.
