The number itself is shocking, but we fight to save hundreds of thousands more. We can do this together. Wear a mask, socially distance, be vigilant.

Our public health experts need to be allowed to do their jobs, and that includes getting the incoming administration ready to tackle this pandemic. These kinds of actions only stand in the way of progress.

I just remembered that one of my kid’s favorite toys is a Champ stuffed animal that President-elect Biden gave me when I worked at the White House. My son is so excited Champ will be back in the White House.

President Truman said, “Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid.” To our veterans and military families, thank you. Let us do our best this and every day to honor your service to our nation.

David and I have talked before about our passion as dads to build a better future for our kids. Marty has an extraordinary mission to get veterans the care that they need and deserve. I have gotten to know them throughout the campaign and I have a deep respect for them.

I want to thank David Richter and Marty Weber for running alongside me in our race. Putting your name on a ballot takes tremendous courage, it's what keeps our democracy alive. It was an honor to be in this race with you both.

I am so proud of our team tonight. Votes are still being counted and voices are still being heard, but tonight is about the work we've done and the community we've built. I couldn't be more thankful for your support and for your trust.

The sun setting as we drove through the pine lands was so stunning that we had to pull over to soak it in. May we see the sun rise tomorrow with hope for the future. 2 hours to go.

Kammy and I spent some time visiting small businesses in Ocean County this afternoon. We stopped into Crave in Toms River for some fantastic wings. I know we're all feeling a whole lot of emotion tonight; I recommend eating dinner before results start coming in.
