This is first big test of whether Tory promises to the North actually mean anything. All year, they have ignored our calls to sort out the rail chaos. Surely they must now intervene?

Surely you have some influence here?
Andy Burnham 12月19日
Yes, as a member of , I do. But our formal requests for intervention have so far fallen on deaf ears. Only the Government can resolve this.

Andy they don’t care. Tonight my sons train had a “technical fault” so it was cancelled. We’ve also had unexpected number of trains requiring maintenance, lack of crew, various operational stuff & no reason. He has a season ticket and I’m paying again for alternatives regularly

Tonight I had to pay to get him a taxi home, because he was stuck and I couldn’t just nip and get him. Again.

As a rail worker who has experienced a fatality, and an assault, I think perhaps the first response should have been to the staff involved rather than use incidents and people for political point scoring. Be part of the solution

Removing 1 timetableed service from the Castlefield Corridor (which if I remember is your grand idea) will hardly solve the issue and would be a retrograde step. Gov has had complete oversight of current time-table

Rather than nitpicking after every delayed train. Why not put your energy into a proper campaign to sort out the Castlefield Corridor, which the government is yet to make a decision on.
