Assuming the Mets don't come back in the 9th, Jacob deGrom will be the first pitcher since Randy Johnson of the 1999 D-backs to make 5 straight starts of 7+ IP and ≤ 2 ER, and see his team lose each one.

As best I can tell, those would be the only two instances of that happening since integration.

This just proves that deGrom doesn't know how to win games. I'd rather gave a guy with a 5.00 ERA that knows how to win. Mostly, I want folks to clearly see sarcasm.

You should have left off the last sentence then just sat back and watched people go crazy. Brilliant tweet without that.

Obviously deserves better and has for several seasons now. Frustrating for fans. Must be frustrating for HIM beyond belief.

The Mets didn’t even hit a ball out of the infield today

Proving once again the W/L record of a pitcher is meaningless. Quality starts are what should be measured.

only if they change the definition. 6 IP and 3ER? That's a 4.50 ERA. Not exactly quality, IMO.
