Why on earth did think it was a good idea to name two different microarchitectures "10th Generation Intel® Core™ i* Processors"? And then choose a numbering scheme that doesn't make a ton of sense, on top?

Because Ryzen is kicking their ass and they're panicking. Let them screw up for a while so they stop resting on their laurels.

I don't think Ryzen really is kicking their ass on mobile, so far. Hope the next generation of mobile Ryzen + iGPU will challenge intel more. I agree that having some actual competition in the x86 space again is a very good thing.

I always just google "my current cpu vs cpu I need to understand", like "9400f vs 10710u" - usually helps. Treat them as git commit hashes.
