Two brilliant reviews on first weekend for by 'chilling and urgent' 'the link between domestic abuse and mass murder can no longer be ignored' and interview. This is a book for our times.

Playdate. Cleaning house to a standard we could conceivably maintain during everyday life, but don’t.

Introduced 2yo to concept of chocolate bribery for poos in the loo just over 12 hours ago. She is already gleefully gaming the system by doing many tiny poos five minutes apart & demanding payment for each one. “And now we get another treat for me!”

I have such a cowardly mouth, I can make a coffee with cold milk, have a shower and still find it too hot. Who are you people pouring scald down your throats?

Where, Bear? and Each Peach Pear Plum were favourites here. There's a book called Yawn they loved too. We had a touchy-feely Dear Zoo they loved. Never too soon! Enjoy.

Sausage & Black Bean Stew today, adding red onion and garlic bread and swapping kale for spinach. Second helpings for 2yo but 5yo only ate the sausages really. Ah well. You win some. It was still vastly less fraught…

'......This isn't just a book, this is literature.' So thrilled to see my quote in print. And not just for any book, but for this book, my favourite book of 2018. Thank you

👏 for an absolute RAVE for Tiger in : “Combining the propulsiveness of a thriller with the raw yet meditative tone of a memoir, Clark writes with a poet’s ear and a naturalist’s eye” ... 1/2

I hate to say this but we tried everything including enzyme cleaners and ended up having to get rid of carpet - we were luckily & had battered parquet underneath. Good luck
