Coming in hot on my last week at RTI! Will I finish everything on my to-do list? First to complete: this R&R- nothing motivates like the threat of no access to SAS for 3 weeks. ✅

Yesterday I offered to share some writing advice that has worked for me, & it garnered a lot of interest! So I'm going to share it here in a thread instead of individually by email because we can all agree that academic writing is HARD! So here we go

Soo crazy proud of Ali these past 2 weeks. Shes physically & mentally the toughest person I know. My inspo to always keep fighting (will be applied differently in my work 😂) Always a joy to watch, thanks Ali!💪🏻 🎾😘(fade out to Girl on Fire-Alicia Keys)

When Alec got home tonight, we rewatched ‘s match from this morning. And I still yelled at the tv like it was live, full knowing the outcome and sometimes even remembering what happened with that game... Alec and I have finally become one person

Remembering my professor’s words of advice in grad school- that the only way to get better at writing is to keep writing- and now cursing the last several years that I didn’t heed his advice. It’s like training for a marathon. And I’d rather be not doing that

And here’s the pub! I learned so much while working on this- and hope to one day (when I’m a PI) model the patience and understanding that Mike afforded me during the process 😆

Today, I demo’d how we fit a latent curve model w/ structured residuals (and how it differs from the ARCL model) to model EF & math achievement in K-2 for our quantitative lunch seminar series. Extra thankful for the stats mentorship that I’ve received while !

In my next role, I’ll be working on a longitudinal study of mothers and infants- I haven’t worked with this age group since undergrad- (if you remember me going off to lab visits on Saturdays at PSU- way back 6+ (!) years ago), so I’m excited for the new challenge 😬
