More news from Echo Park Lake: One of the people living in the encampment was arrested today, according to activists who were filming and monitoring the enforcement efforts there. I'm trying to verify the charge.

Davon Brown, one of the residents of the encampment at Echo Park Lake, was arrested on a charge of battery of a police officer, according to the LAPD. Street Watch L.A. activists contend the charge isn't justified and want him to be released.

(I deleted a previous version of this tweet that said he was "being charged" -- realized it was more accurate to say he was arrested on the charge.)

I looked into it, here are some more facts: -Bail is set at $20,000 -No court date set -No criminal case number yet -No prior arrests for Brown listed in the LASD system -Arresting agency is the Unified School District LAPD....? 🤔 -Not showing him booked at this time

Metro said to call Park Rangers & speak to Watch Commander. They didn’t have the phone number but suggested I Google it. He said Rangers maybe a dept of the State even though it’s a city park & thought it was odd that the LAUSDPD was listed as arresting agency, said typo maybe🤷🏼‍♀️
