It beggars belief that they resort to name-calling and playground politics when their policies are having such a damaging impact on people's lives.

It is both, yes. But if we just talk about the administrative problems we miss the central point that people with disabilities or kids are paying the price for Osborne's political cuts.

Fwiw, I wrote this back in 2013. Pg 18 covers tax credits & mistakes made. The debate is not about the *system* it is about *cuts* to the welfare state that is supposed to help people deal with the extra costs of kids, disability and age

Cammell Laird has announced plans to cut 290 jobs at the Birkenhead shipyard, 40% of the entire workforce. I asked the Business Minister why there has been total silence from his Government and if he will fight to retain these jobs. I can't say I was reassured by the answer.

Breaking: will tomorrow force the government to come clean on the impact on individuals of Universal Credit. Number 10 say there are no losers, says ‘some people will be worse off’. Parliament should be given the Governments own analysis of the roll-out.

Thanks , and for having me on. We talked benefits, Beveridge, and how we've come to where we are today, with hundreds of thousands of people referred to foodbanks last year.

Asked the Employment Minister in parliament to admit that people are worse off due to - he didn’t deny it. The government should stop the roll out urgently.
