For everyone walking in the : remember this energy, hold on to it, and be prepared to do it again, and again, and again. The current system won't change after today. We'll have to keep pushing until it does. This is not over.

So all the bugs are disappearing: And so are the birds: And the frogs: And now this: And the Republicans decided to mock Greta Thunberg at her Congressional hearing. FUCK. YOU.

Nice work by this vendor at a ren faire creating a clear, contextual, and complete explanation of why people who like runes need to be wary of neonazi associations

Yeah, that's a problem ☹️ not trying to give anyone ideas, but maybe next time i could make use of Dutch liberal policy on marijuana, aka get stoned for the procedure 🙈

critics are very concerned about toy drones flown at head height well away from Heathrow. Pity they are not concerned about 50,000 UK people dying prematurely from air pollution, or the hundreds of millions who will die, at least from climate related causes.

I don't think day care is comparable - 1) interaction with peers is also valuable, 2) you can't expect parents to take 6 years off work, but doing something special with the family only takes 1 day, and if work schedule does not allow it, it is a toxic system!

So I have an alternative suggestion: a stand that gives out free screwdrivers to dismantle capitalism! 😈

I see where you are coming from & the idea is really sweet, but for me the whole premise feels deeply wrong. Kids don't need more toys, they need more time with their mom and dad. And culture that demands from people to work 24/7 or else their career will suffer is deeply toxic.

Carbon offsets take us in the wrong direction. They help maintain the status quo. They deactivate people who would likely otherwise be change makers, allowing them to continue high carbon activities that they would likely otherwise balk against.

“People don’t realise that what they do is important because it affects those around them. If you keep flying, all your friends will as well. You contribute to the norm. But if you decide to take a flight-free year, that makes others reflect”

2. We should ban all flight advertising, like we banned cigarette advertising. The former is far worse for public and planetary health than the latter. Compare these 3 photos. Most of us would cringe in disgust at the first two, but why not the last one?

Damn right. nails it again. The national debate needs to be about which runways we close first, rather than when we're going to open new ones. Act like it's a .

So it seems people’s belief in climate change is influenced first and foremost by whether they believe they are left or right on political spectrum. Makes as much sense as ignoring an early diagnosis of a disease because the doctor supports a different political party
