Lewis Carroll’s Diaries Dec 11
Dec. 11, 1876: Mrs. Liddell came in to see the photographs (about which I had written) which I had taken in 1858, 1859 and 1860, of Edith; and accepted several of them. [Edith, Alice Liddell’s younger sister, had died earlier that year. Dodgson’s 1860 portrait below]

Lewis Carroll’s Diaries Nov 8
Nov. 8, 1897: A letter came, addressed to “L. Carrol, Ch. Ch., Oxford.” So many such now come, that I have decided to refuse them, and gave it, unopened ... to the Post Office. All such will now go back to the writers, through the Dead Letter Office, with endorsement “not known.”

Did you know that there were not just Venn diagrams, but also "Carroll diagrams"? If you missed Prof Robin Wilson's talk on Lewis Carroll's mathematics at last night, you can watch it here:

Some photos, as promised, of the Alice in Nightmareland Ghost Train in Vancouver's Stanley Park. The highlight was Alice slaying the massive Jabberwock while Metallica's 'Enter Sandman' played on the train's speakers.

Next at the Fall Meeting, Riley McGuire positions dysfluent speech in writing, like Bruno’s, as a mechanism for asserting control over his own. Bruno makes his choice for how he speaks, despite pressure to conform.
