Israel is a vibrant democracy! You* can vote for Netanyahu’s party (Likud), the party started by the racist rabbi (Shas), the far-right coalition run by the woman who openly called for genocide (Yamina)… so many choices! *Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza need not apply

No. There is no capacity for reform from within. External pressure is the necessary condition.

What’s to celebrate? He will be replaced by another cold-blooded butcher of Palestinian children. Netanyahu’s replacement represents precisely zero progress for Palestinian rights.

No matter who is Israeli prime minister, they will lead an illegitimate ethnocratic apartheid war criminal regime that has no legitimacy whatsoever and no right to rule any inch of historic Palestine.

Any Israeli government will be violently anti-Palestinian. But the gravest danger for Palestinians is one that can market itself to the “international community” as earnest about “peace.” This danger appears to have been avoided.

While I’m disappointed that has apparently not secured victory, I take comfort that the results of Israel’s election offer no hope of reviving the “peace process” delusion and fraud.

Update- burial at 1 PM tomorrow in Desert Hills Cemetery, Presidio. I don't have to run the backhoe or shovel the dirt this time, just provide the ropes and do the lowering with the funeral director and the digger. Have my own set of lowering ropes I bought several years back...

I reported a bunch of Facebook posts by and other right-wing operatives where they warned against the high turnout (allegedly) of “Arab voters.” FB did not find them in violation of their community standards. I resubmitted them for review.

Just imagine: The US isn’t upset when its allies mercilessly BOMB babies in Yemen for over 4 years—with its arms and its military assistance. But it is terribly upset when the victims react the only way they can—against the aggressor's OIL refineries.

US is in denial if it thinks that Yemeni victims of 4.5 yrs of the worst war crimes wouldn't do all to strike back. Perhaps it's embarrassed that $100s of blns of its arms didn't intercept Yemeni fire. But blaming Iran won't change that. Ending the war=only solution for all.

Netanyahu is back on the Facebook live, warning that if he loses the Arabs will take over the government etc etc etc He sounds totally hoarse. But this are the actions of a man who really, really wants to win.

Bad news for EU's : She'll be sad to learn that the rule of law and free speech in Germany have won out over her cynical and thuggish Israel lobby-backed campaign to silence supporters of Palestinian human rights by falsely smearing them as anti-Semites.
